upsidedown

Common to all the pieces in this series is the concave surface. Their models have all been hand build in a grog filled clay, modelled up side down on a convex base. Pounded with clubs, pulled and ripped into shape, their form comes from a somewhat rough and violent process, yet the approach to the dish in the concave surface invites to gentle touch. After the casting process, traces of clay and plaster are left on the finished pieces as part of the form and the properties of glass is left in hints.

They are in the size category of forty to fifty cm wide and between eight and twenty cm high.
